Construction of two railway bridges in stages, while maintaining traffic on the second track
REQUIREMENTS
• Open structural solution, with no bottom slab and no dividing walls to interrupt the river flow
• Installation of bridges in stages, to allow continous traffic on the second track
• Eliminating the risk of using in-situ structures and use of temporary bridges
• A fast track solution, based on short-term traffic closures established on short notices
SOLUTION
• Open frame structures, without bottom slab
• Use of precast edge beams and wing-walls, for maximum speed of construction
• Installation of second half bridge in only several hours
• Working on half of the brdige, while traffic continued on the other line
